With over 7000 islands and over a hundred ethno-linguistic groups, the Philippines is robust with culture…and it shows in the food. Each town in each region has their very own special delicacy or at least a unique way of preparing a certain kind of food.
Wherever a Filipino goes in the country, as they’re bound to go back to their place, it’s tradition that they should buy something from the place they visited. This homecoming gift is what we call Pasalubong (Translation: Souvenir).
A certain part of Zamora street here in Tacloban City features different vendors of these pasalubong goods. We came across one that gets their products from farmers and fishermen from Samar and other neighboring towns.
Joedy’s Pasalubong Center showcases diverse products and we were quick to pick up on some of their items.
